Minecraft Dungeons

Minecraft Dungeons took the block-building sandbox everyone knows and turned it into something else entirely: a hack-and-slash loot crawler where you swing through torch-lit rooms, dodge waves of mobs, and chase the next weapon drop. It never came to Android, and it never needed to, the loop of room, fight, loot, repeat is simple enough to rebuild from scratch. We built Lanternfall, a free browser dungeon crawler inspired by that loop, and it runs right here, no install required.

How to play

On a phone, drag the left pad to walk and drag the right side of the screen to look around, then tap ATTACK to swing and DASH to burst out of trouble. On desktop, use WASD to move, drag the mouse (or click the dungeon to lock the view) to look around, and click or tap ATTACK to hit whatever is under your crosshair. Space bar dashes on desktop too.

Every room is stitched together from the day’s dungeon seed, so everyone who opens Lanternfall today walks the same layout, torches and all. Crawlers and ghasts chase you once you’re close, gold gives you score, and one glowing sigil per run unlocks a ranged strike so you can pick off enemies before they close the distance. Health only goes one way, so watch the bar at the top and dash past anything you can’t win. Your best score for today’s dungeon, and your all-time best, are saved right on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Minecraft Dungeons

Lanternfall keeps the part of Minecraft Dungeons that actually hooks people: walk into a room, fight what’s in it, grab the loot, push to the next door. The melee swing, the ranged unlock, the torch-lit atmosphere, and a fresh layout every day are all here, and a run ends the honest way, either you reach the bottom or your health runs out and you start again.

What it drops is everything that makes Dungeons a full release rather than a browser tab. There’s no four-player co-op, no gear with rolled enchantments to chase, no boss arenas, and no expansion content adding new biomes and mobs. Lanternfall is a single-player pass through one procedurally arranged dungeon per day, not a loot system with dozens of hours of builds to theorycraft. If you want the real depth, the co-op runs with friends, or the sequel’s new mechanics, you want the actual game on Steam.

Minecraft Dungeons is a Windows and console title, it never shipped on Android, so there’s no Aptoide or Google Play listing to link here.

FAQ

Is this the real Minecraft Dungeons?

No. Lanternfall is an original browser game inspired by the room-clearing, loot-chasing feel that made Minecraft Dungeons popular, built entirely from scratch by our team. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Mojang or Microsoft in any way.

Can I play Minecraft Dungeons in a browser?

Not the official game. Minecraft Dungeons is a Windows and console release with no browser or mobile version. Lanternfall gives you a similar torch-lit, hack-and-slash dungeon run without installing anything.

Does Lanternfall work offline?

Once the page has loaded, yes. There are no server calls after that, no accounts, and nothing to fetch mid-run. Your best score is saved locally in your browser, so it’s tied to this device.

Is it free?

Completely. No signup, no in-game purchases, and no download. Open the tab and the dungeon is waiting.

Is Minecraft Dungeons coming to Android?

Not officially, and there’s no indication that’s changing. It remains a Windows and console title available through Steam and console storefronts.
